How has the COVID epidemic changed America? There’s no simple answer, surveying by Gallup suggests.
The polling group reported recently that 47% of Americans say they are completely back to normal, and another 13% expect to return to normalcy. On the other hand, 40% say they’ll never get back to the way things were in 2019.
Seventy-two percent of U.S. adults surveyed said they contracted COVID-19 at some point since 2020. While 16% say they have tested positive without having any symptoms, 11% have experienced Long COVID symptoms, and 2% have been admitted to the hospital.
Fifty-eight percent of U.S. adults surveyed said they are somewhat or very worried about there being another global pandemic in their lifetime, and 46% said they had received a COVID vaccine shot within the past six months. But those responses vary dramatically by political affiliation, Gallup noted.
